While the hotel may not seem like much from outside appearances, it is so much more than it seems. Really appreciated the great service - everyone was so kind and polite and nice. I felt personally welcomed and they made an effort to remember my name and welcome me daily. Despite their limited English, they really tried their best. The van pickups from the station were prompt and easy to get. On the last day, they even took a detour to drop me off in front of the station so I would not have to drag my luggage far. On that note, I would not recommend walking from Gora station but if the cable car is operating the walk from koen-kami is quite manageable. Room was clean and spacious. Would have been good to have a desk but I was happy to have a comfortable sofa and large bed. Rooms seemed recently renovated and well equipped. Breakfast was limited - it was a set with eggs/sausage/breads/salad and free flow coffee/tea/soup but the food was all good quality. Was especially blessed to have a free-flow promotion during my time there - they really mean free flow and they leave the bar open to mix any drink you’d like pretty much. Pretty good value for money! (I paid about 45000 yen for 2 nights for one)

Although walking into the lobby the hotel looks a little dated, the room I stayed in was very modern and spacious. The staff were very attentive and spoke good English. The hotel offers a free pick up from Gora station or you can take the ropeway two stations up and walk 10 mins down the road to the hotel. The breakfast was a set menu, with a choice of juice and eggs.

Onsen and authentic accommodation, I felt like I visited this place in early 2000 with all modern necessities like WIFI available. Front desk staff was verry helpful and friendly all the time. They even offered to take us to train station (AFTER CHECKOUT AND PAYMENT was completed ) I strongly recommend to visit this hotel.

The location was a great base to explore Hakone and the surrounding area from Gora. Definitely recommended. The amenities and the services were also excellent. In particular the attention to detail of the staff as well as the multi-course meal each night were certainly something to look forward to.

The food was excellent!! The waitresses were very friendly and tried hard to introduce me all their dishes and ingredients despite the language barrier. The room we booked was very clean and new. The onsen experience was also very pleasant. Overall I highly recommend this place.
